Katie Reus Interview and Mating Instinct Tour Giveaway

  

 
Author Katie Reus is at Mad Hatter Reads today as part of the Mating Instinct tour! I’m thrilled that you stopped by to answer a few questions Katie!
 
KR: Thanks so much for having me here today J
 
MHR: What can the readers expect from Mating Instinct?

KR: Lots of action and sexual tension! This book is really character driven so even though there’s a ton of action, Kat and Jayce have a lot of issues to work through. Watching them get there is a bit of a rollercoaster.

MHR: What is your favorite scene from the book and are there any scenes that are hard for you to write?
 
KR: There’s a scene in the woods near the Armstrong-Cordona ranch where Jayce, the hero, lays himself bare to Kat about what he went through when she was missing and I just love it because it’s so raw. And yes, some scenes that deal with abuse or violence can be a struggle.
 
MHR: Did you always know you wanted to write romantic suspense and paranormal romance?
 
KR: Once I realized I wanted to be a writer I knew romantic suspense was it for me. Paranormal romance totally hit me by surprise. Growing up, I had no idea such an amazing genre existed, but once I discovered it, I was equally hooked.
 
MHR: Do you work with an outline or just write (a plotter or pantser)?
 
KR: Outline all the way. Writing a series, I can’t imagine how anyone could work without one. I actually shudder thinking about it!
 
MHR: Are there any characters you would like to revisit, or is there a theme or idea you would love to explore?
 
KR: Not really because I never hold back with what I want to write about (themes, etc.). And since a lot of my series books feature familiar characters, they’re often revisited J
 
MHR: What are you reading right now?
 
KR: I’m rereading a Lisa Marie Rice book.
 
MHR: Is there anything you would like to share about upcoming projects?
 
KR: Hmm, well, I’ve got a few stories in my Red Stone Security series I hope to put out this year and a new romantic suspense series from NAL launching in October that I’m really excited about! It features a group of undercover NSA agents fighting to keep innocent people safe. This series promises to be full of danger and romance ;) I don’t know if I can release the series name yet but as soon as I can, I will.
